Lincoln spent his formative years — from 7 until 21 — right here in Indiana, where the character of the man who preserved and guided our nation through its greatest crisis was shaped.
Proceeds from the plate support the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection given to the citizens of Indiana by the Lincoln Financial Foundation in 2008. This landmark collection, housed at the Indiana State Museum and the Allen County Public Library, is one of the top Lincoln collections in the world and one of the most significant acquisitions in the museum’s history.
With more than 50,000 objects, books and documents ranging from the Lincoln family’s own photographs and personal possessions to signed copies of the Emancipation Proclamation and 13th Amendment, the collection is a national treasure.
