Celebrate the 195th anniversary of Indiana’s statehood at the Indiana Statehouse. The Birthday Party will begin at 9 a.m. and include interactive activities presented by many state agencies and offices all through the Statehouse. Don’t forget to to schedule your group for the simultaneous programs at the Indiana State Museum. At noon, enjoy a program featuring government officials from all three branches of state government, music, student essays and more.
The Indiana State House Tour Office is coordinating an essay competition in conjunction with the State Library to commemorate “Indiana Statehood Day,” a celebration of Indiana’s 195th birthday. Winners will be honored at the Statehood Day Celebration taking place on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, from noon to 1 p.m., at the Indiana State House. Click here for more information.
