Extreme Egypt Archaeology Summer Camp
June 11 – 15, 2012; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
$120 per camper for the week
$105 early registration through May 15
Part of Angel Mounds' Archaeology Summer Day Camp series, Extreme Egypt allows campers to explore Egypt and all its splendor right in their own backyard. Activities include mock excavations, a visit to an Egyptian tomb, a special "Friday Feast" of Egyptian cuisine and much more. Registration includes free t-shirt, snacks and lunch on Friday.
Mound Mayhem Archaeology Summer Camp
June 25 – 29, 2012; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
$120 per camper for the week

Part of Angel Mounds' Archaeology Summer Day Camp series, Mound Mayhem explores the mysteries of the Mississippian Native Americans that once thrived at Angel Mounds. Campers learn about Missisippian lifeways through such activities as mock excavations, stone tool technology, a special "Friday Feast" of Mississippian cuisine and much more. Registration includes free t-shirt, snacks and lunch on Friday.
Groovy Gladiators Archaeology Summer Camp
July 9 – 13, 2012; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
$120 per camper for the week

Part of Angel Mounds' Archaeology Summer Day Camp series, Groovy Gladiators transports campers to one of the greatest empires of the Western World. Campers will meet some of Rome’s most notorious characters and participate in such activities as mock excavations, recreated gladiator battles, a special "Friday Feast" of Roman cuisine and much more. Registration includes free t-shirt, snacks and lunch on Friday.
8th annual Bluegrass and Barbecue Concert
Aug. 4, 2012; 4 – 8 p.m.
$5 per person
ocial gatherings amid good food and good music have been a tradition at Angel Mounds throughout the centuries, and Bluegrass and Barbecue is no exception. Featuring the area's best bluegrass talent, this 8th annual event offers guests a relaxing summer retreat in the midst of nature and a vanished culture. Visitors will toe-tap to melodic tunes, enjoy tangy barbecue and experience the wonders of an ancient settlement all at one unique event.
30th annual Native American Days
Sept. 21 – 23, 2012; 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
$2 per person for Field Trip Friday
$10 per vehicle on Saturday and Sunday
A culmination of everything Angel Mounds has to offer, Native American Days spans space and time to present a complete narrative of Native American lifeways. At the event's centerpiece is the performance area, which features enchanting music, traditional dancing and captivating storytelling. The event also includes numerous demonstrations and hands-on activities, many of which teach simple survival skills, such as fire-making, stone tool manufacturing, river cane processing and more. In addition, Native American vendors come from far and wide to sell their wares and demonstrate their crafts in the Indian Market. For those led by their hunger, a concessionaire is on-hand to sell traditional American foods as well as Indian tacos, fry bread and other contemporary Native American staples. The event kicks off on Aug. 21 with Field Trip Friday which welcomes over 2,000 area students. Accessible transportation is provided for persons with mobility limitations.
Night at the Museum Halloween Party
Oct. 19, 20, 26, 2012; 7 – 10 p.m.
$5 per person
The 7th annual Night at the Museum Halloween Party is fun for all ages and feature the "Ghosts of the WPA" haunted trails and no-scare kiddie hayrides. Visitors can face their fears at the "Curse of the Mummy," play delightful children's games, trick-or-treat through the haunted village and become entranced by spooky storytelling. Additional event features include fortune telling, face painting, a flashlight hunt and more. All activities included with admission. Enjoy free popcorn and candy; additional food and beverages are available for purchase.
