L.S. Ayres Tea Room
PLEASE NOTE: The L.S. Ayres Tea Room is closed for renovations. The tea room is expected to re-open May 23 for call-ahead dining for groups of 20+, and event rental opportunities. Call317.234.1022 for information or reservations.

For an elegant lunch experience, the Indiana State Museum offers a detailed re-creation of the former L.S. Ayres Tea Room. From 1905 to 1990, the Tea Room delighted generations of Hoosiers with its charming ambiance and clever menu items.

The Tea Room is once again a full-service restaurant, faithful to the elbows-off-the-table spirit of the original, featuring both contemporary fare and classics from the original menu, such as Chicken Velvet Soup and the children’s Hobo Lunch. Download the L.S. Ayres Tea Room menus. Reservations are suggested, but walk-ins are welcome. To make reservations call 317.232.1637.

The L.S. Ayres Tea Room is available for High Tea on Sundays. Reservations are required.

Both restaurant spaces are available for event rental.
