At the direction of the governor and following recommendations from the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), all 12 locations of the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites will be temporarily closed beginning March 17 in response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution, to protect the safety and health of our staff, volunteers and visitors.
As the situation continues to unfold, a reopen date will be established in conjunction with recommendations from ISDH.
At this time, all scheduled programs and events through the end of April will also be canceled or rescheduled, and registered attendees will be notified. As a nonprofit organization that relies on donations, we encourage you to consider using your program fee as a donation to the museum. Refunds will also be available for anyone who has purchased a ticket. Questions about ticket purchases can be directed to Visitor Services at (317) 232-1637.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding as we all work together during this time.
Any updates will be posted on this webpage (indianamuseum.org/COVID-19) and on social media.
