  • Corydon Friday Night Concert Series

    Join Corydon State Historic Site every Friday night June 1 through July 27 (except for July 6) for a summer concert series. This series, featuring regional bands, has been a tradition in downtown Corydon for over 30 years. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs. In the event of inclement weather, the concert may be cancelled.     The Junior Indiana Master Naturalist Program provides children with many hands-on opportunities to learn about our Hoosier natural resources. It also provides a way for them to discover the land trusts, soil and water conservation districts, state and local parks, and other natural resource and conservation agencies in Indiana, all done so through volunteer service. Those individuals who complete their service hours will also receive the following: a certificate of completion and a Junior Indiana Master Naturalist patch.

    This day camp is Monday through Friday, June 4 – 8, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day, $150 per child or $125 for GSP Society members, recommended for ages 9-12, registration required by May 18. Contact us to register.

    Join the Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site in its first-ever summer music series. Guests are invited to join the site for each of the three sessions based on Gene Stratton-Porter’s Music of the Wild series. Featured music will include Celtic, symphonic and bluegrass at various locations throughout the property. Symphony in the Prairie will be presented by the musical group String Shift, featuring members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic at the Hemingway Wetlands. Bring a blanket and picnic in the restored wetlands as you enjoy the Songs of the Fields.

  • Family Wetland & Prairie Prowl

    Join the interpretive naturalist as we explore the Hemingway Wetlands. Guests will use the Wetland Exploration Backpacks to learn about all creatures great and small who reside in the wetlands. Depending upon the clarity of the sky, star gazing will be available to identify major constellations, satellites and other celestial bodies by telescope thanks to Fort Wayne Astronomical Society. Bring binoculars for a closer view of the stars!
