  • Young Explorers: Sensing the World Around Me

  • Murder Mystery Dinner

    Join Corydon Capitol State Historic Site for a killer time at the popular murder mystery dinner. You’ll become a character in the mystery and travel back in time to Ancient Rome, spending the evening trying to discover the murderer.   • Star Gazing & Night Hike

    Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site

    The site’s naturalist will lead visitors through Sower’s Woods to introduce them to the creatures of the night! Bats, owls, moths and other critters may make an appearance. Depending upon the clarity of the sky, star gazing will then give attendees the opportunity to learn how to identify major constellations, satellites and other celestial bodies by telescope, courtesy of the Fort Wayne Astronomical Society. Visitors are invited to bring binoculars for a closer view of the stars.

    Tickets are $4 per person and can be purchased on-site.

  • Inside the Levi & Catharine Coffin House: A Poetry Workshop

    Levi and Catharine Coffin State Historic Site

    Join Indiana poet Shari Wagner for a special one day poetry workshop at the Levi & Catharine Coffin State Historic Site. This workshop for adults allows participants to express their reactions to the Coffin story through poetry. Learn about poetry prompts and models, along with gaining tools for collaborative and individual writing exercises. As part of the workshop, participants will tour both the Coffin Interpretive Center and the 1839 Coffin home.

    This event is supported by the Indiana Arts Commission.

  • Exploring Sylvan’s Shores

  • The Capitol Ball

    Guests at the ball will learn dances that could have been danced during Indiana’s first capital period (1816-1825). Dances will be called, so no prior experience is needed. Live music will be provided by Keltricity. Prior to the ball, free practice sessions will be offered for those who would like some practice beforehand. Attendees are encouraged to dress in period costume, and light refreshments will be served.

    This event will be held at the Harrison County YMCA, 198 Jenkins Ct NE, Corydon, IN 47112.

    Indiana Hunter Education Courses will provide instruction in the areas of safe firearm use and handling while hunting, as well as in the home, hunter ethics and responsibility, game identification, and conservation management. Anyone born after December 31, 1986 is required to be certified in Hunter Education before they can purchase a hunting license. Hunter Education classes are offered by knowledgeable and dedicated volunteer instructors and Indiana Conservation Officers. This will be hosted in association with the Wild Game Cookout.

    This class is conducted in two sessions, and participants must attend both sessions:
