Soak in pure holiday magic at the Indiana State Museum's holiday experience, Celebration Crossing! 

Ride the Santa Claus Express train and visit Santa and Mrs. Claus in their house. Explore and create in Santa’s Workshop, where you can create on the elves’ workbenches, map the flight of Santa’s reindeer around the globe, and help pack Santa’s sleigh full of presents. In Santa’s Front Yard, you can build a snowman, have a "snowball" fight and decorate trees.

Peewinkle CaberetHoliday Cabaret
Peewinkle’s largest production is a great start to the holiday season. Audiences will not only be entertained and educated by the variety of puppets, but will learn about many of the winter festivals of lights.

Christmas at the Puppet Studio
The whole family will enjoy this music-and-puppet-filled Christmas variety show. Mozart and Ludmilla, the mice who live in the piano, host this well-loved show. A perfect gift for the family.

Santa Express GalleryBears usually hibernate in the winter, but our bear wants to see his first snowflake. Learn about winter and help keep Bear awake during this interactive play for families with children ages 3-5.

Family New Year's EveJoin us this holiday season for a festive lunch with your friends and family. Enjoy traditional favorites from the L.S. Ayres Tea Room™ including chicken velvet soup and chicken salad. The L.S. Ayres Tea Room™ offers full service lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the winter holiday season, from November 23, 2018 through January 6, 2019. Reservations are highly recommended and are offered at four dining times: 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Make your dining reservation by calling us at 317.232.1637. Tea Room gift certificates are offered in increments of $10, $25 and $50. When making the purchase, choose to pick up the certificate at will call (the Indiana State Museum ticket counter) or to have the certificate delivered via mail.

Girl Scouts SingOnce you’ve gotten in your holiday fill, there is plenty more to do at the museum. Visit our programs and events page to learn about more fun to be had during the holidays. And, don’t miss two special temporary experiences - THE ART OF THE BRICK features more than 80 original sculptures made entirely of LEGO bricks. Cardboard Engineering is a 3,000-square-foot design and play space stocked with cardboard boxes of all sizes, safety scissors and more colorful tape than you could possibly use. Then, head over to our permanent galleries on our first and second floors, and be sure to check out our three recently redesigned experiences, Frozen Reign, First Nations and the R.B.
