Register your child for summer camp fun at the Indiana State Museum

Does your child dream of flying into space, or do they love solving mysteries and puzzles? Better yet, do you have Indy’s next famous chef on your hands? Well, we’ve got a full slate of summer camps at the Indiana State Museum to let your child explore all that and more.

Several camp favorites like archaeology, culinary and fashion camps will return, but we’re also introducing plenty of new camps this year too. Best of all, you don’t have to dedicate an entire week to camp this year. We’re introducing a brand-new category – single day camps! – in addition to our pre-k/kindergarten camps and weeklong summer camps.

Don’t forget: Before and aftercare options are available for an additional cost for our camps as well.

During single day camps, parents can pick and choose as many single day camps and topics as they want – or that will fit into busy summer schedules.

Topics include space, art exploration, Ice Age animals, prehistoric pottery, museum mysteries and more. Single day camps are for youth entering first through sixth grade and take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The cost for these camps per day are $45/museum members and $50/non-members with a $5 discount for siblings enrolled in the same camp.

Returning for 2019 are weekly half-day camps for pre-k and kindergarten children. Your curious camper age 4 to 6 can explore the world around them with PBS’ Nature Cat, become a scientist with PBS’ Sid the Science Kid and create and explore art through our Artful Play Camp.

Camps meet from 9 a.m. to noon for an entire week, and costs are $105/members and $117/non-members per week of camp with a $5 discount for siblings enrolled in the same camp.

Plus, your pre-k and kindergarten camper can have the full-day camp experience by adding an afternoon camp with Peewinkle’s Puppet Studio during the weeks of July 15-19 and July 29-Aug. 2. More information on their camp can be found here.

Our popular weeklong summer camps for youth entering first through eighth grades include a wide variety of topics, from returning favorites to several new options.

Returning camps include fashion camps where your child can participate in design challenges and create their very own stuffed animal or monster, and culinary camps where campers will learn new cooking techniques and how to grow their own fresh ingredients.

New topics include a theater camp with Young Actors Theatre directors, technology, science and others.

These camps take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and costs for the weeklong summer camps are $210/members and $235/non-members with a $5 discount for siblings enrolled in the same camp.

For families in need, scholarships will be offered for all camps – and information on those scholarships can be found here.

Summer camps at the Indiana State Museum sell out quickly, so check out our full slate of camps at www.indianamuseum.org/summer-camps. Don’t delay – sign your child up for a summer day camp, a week of camp or more today!
