Family Night Out

Bring the family to an evening at the Indiana State Museum that everyone will enjoy!

Family Fright Night
Kick off your Halloween season with Family Fright Night! Dress in your Halloween best for a night of spooky fun. Join our mad scientist in his lab, where you can help conduct experiments – if you dare. Discover monsters that call Indiana home. Create your own monster mask in Cardboard Engineering, then strut your ghoulish stuff in a costume contest and enter for a chance to win prizes in categories like “spookiest costume,” “best homemade costume,” and “best Indiana connection costume.” It’s sure to be a SPOOKtacular time! Additional activities will include:

  • making catapults and flicking spiders into a 7-foot spider web
  • using fake cannons to shoot ghosts
  • using canister rockets and chemistry to emit steam or foam in a spooky ghost rocket activity
  • making a craft with straws to create “witch rockets” – shoot your witch on a straw to see how far it can fly
  • attending a spooky science show
  • listening and dancing to special Halloween music
