Indiana Art Fair

The Indiana Art Fair at the Indiana State Museum returns to celebrate its 16th year showcasing art made right here in the Hoosier state. Enjoy an array of fine art and craft by Indiana artists in the warmth of the museum. Whether you like contemporary or traditional, art that is wearable and functional, or pieces for display in your home, these amazing artists have what you are looking for. 

Dates: Feb. 9 & 10, 2019; 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Artist Callout

Professional and emerging artists are invited to showcase their art at the Indiana Art Fair. This is a juried show accepting art in the following categories: Ceramics, Drawing/Pastels, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metal, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Wood. Learn more >>

 

GeoFest: Fossils, Gems and Minerals

Calling all rock hounds, fossil hunters, jewelers, scouts and families for a day of shopping for gems, fossils and minerals, participating in hands-on activities and exploring our natural history galleries through daily activities and demonstrations. 
Dates: Feb. 15 - 17, 2019, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Pinewood Derby®

On your mark, get set…for the second greatest spectacle in racing! The Indiana State Museum and Crossroads of America Council, BSA, invite you to race Pinewood Derby cars down the two-story, 125-foot race track and watch them speed across the finish line! The track will be open to the public all week with the official race on Saturday, April 6. Included with museum admission, with special pricing of $5 per person for Scouts and their families.

6th Annual Eco Science Fair

Innovative Hoosier students are invited to get involved in becoming the solution to global climate issues. Students can submit science fair projects on a range of topics including aquaculture, vermiculture, composting, social awareness, urban farming, alternative energy, and recycling initiatives in their schools and communities.  
Dates: April 12, 2019, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Cost: Included with museum general admission. There is no fee for submitting a project.
