T.C. Steele, Nashville
Experience the rolling hills, scenic vistas, majestic trees and landscape that inspired noted Hoosier painter T.C. Steele and his wife Selma to build their home and cultivate beauty and art in Brown County.

Get your family into the holiday spirit with this festive program, featuring holiday music, crafts and activities. Sip some hot cider and munch on some cookies, then visit with St. Nicholas (1-2 p.m.) and Belsnickel (1-2 p.m.) in this celebration of St. Nicholas Day.

Gene Stratton-Porter, Rome City
Gene Stratton-Porter’s Cabin at Wildflower Woods is nestled on the shores of Sylvan Lake amongst 148 acres of fields, woods and beautiful formal gardens.

See Gene Stratton Porter’s cabin decorated for the holidays, according to her description of  Christmas in the house in 1917, which she called “A Dream of Beauty.” Enjoy live  entertainment, holiday goodies, crafts and horsedrawn carriage rides around the property. Plus, visit with Santa and share your wish list with him. Purchase tickets at the event.

Limberlost, Geneva
The Limberlost Swamp was the perfect laboratory for author Gene Stratton-Porter to study nature. At a time when most women were homemakers, Porter created a lasting legacy of northern Indiana’s vanishing natural history through her writings and photos.

Get in the holiday spirit by visiting with Santa at Limberlost! Plus, see the Limber Jim Swamp Show, create a fun craft and enjoy an outdoor treasure chest challenge. Complimentary refreshments will be provided. All gift shop items discounted 20% or more during the event.

Explore Lanier Mansion during this festive holiday event. Get your photo taken with Santa and purchase a print, enjoy live music from Les Ordinaires in the parlor and read a copy of a real letter to Santa written by a Lanier grandchild and discovered by staff decades later. This program is supported by an Indiana Arts Commission Arts in the Park grant. No registration required.
