Homeschool Tuesdays

Dive into a world of investigation and discovery during these 2-hour classes designed to stimulate a child’s interest in science, art, history and culture. Classes occur on the first Tuesday of the month, unless otherwise noted, and adults join their learners for an interactive family experience. These classes are designed for homeschool youth who are between 6 and 13 years old.

Cost
Students are admitted to Homeschool Tuesdays for $8/members and $10/non-members. This price includes one adult. Indiana State Museum admission is not included.

Build an architectural masterpiece, plan a city, or construct a wildlife scene with bricks! Participants will be challenged to use their imagination to create.

Nov. 6, 2018, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.|Feasts of First Nations
Lean how Native Americans expressed gratitude for important matters in their lives with feasts!

Dec. 4, 2018, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.|Celebrating Cultures
How do different cultures celebrate and how do they compare to one another? We will have a fun, hands-on morning exploring different cultural celebrations!

Jan. 8, 2019, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.|Famous Hoosier Scientists
From Gene Stratton-Porter to Percy L. Julian, Indiana is full of fascinating scientists! Explore how Hoosier scientists’ cutting-edge research affected the world, and conduct your own scientific experiments.
 
Feb. 5, 2019, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.|Cardboard Construction 
What can you build with some cardboard, scissors and tape? Put your maker skills to the test when you plan and construct your own design!

What is insect life science and how does it affect us? Discover the life cycle of butterflies and learn about their important role as pollinators.
