GENEVA, Ind. – The public is invited to the second summer Bluegrass Jamboree on Sunday, Aug. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Limberlost State Historic Site, located 200 E. 6th St. in Geneva, Ind. The final event of the summer series will take place on Sept. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m.
“The Bluegrass Jamborees are one of the most anticipated and well-attended summer events at the site,” said Nicky Ball, Limberlost State Historic Site manager. “Many of the same musicians and bluegrass fans return year after year.”
The summer music series does not have a set lineup. Instead, musicians show up and perform on a volunteer basis. Everyone is welcome to perform his or her choice of acoustic music. Musicians of any ability can show off their talents and entertain other visitors while enjoying the beautiful grounds of the Limberlost cabin. Musicians can choose to participate by either performing solo or jamming with others.
The Limberlost Visitor Center, cabin and gift shop will also be open during this event. Refreshments will be provided. Visitors are asked to bring a lawn chair.
The series is free and open to the public. Donations are encouraged.
The series is sponsored by Limberlost Construction, Inc., Downing & Glancy Funeral Home and Geneva Case & Quart.
