The Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites give people thousands of ways to explore Indiana.  At all 12 locations, visitors will find stories about the people, places and things that shape Indiana.  The ISMHS welcomes everyone, whether they're a Hoosier by birth or a Hoosier at Heart.

NASHVILLE, Ind. — Winners from this past weekend’s Great Outdoor Art Contest at T.C. Steele State Historic Site have been announced. See list below per category.

People’s Choice, Adult Artist, was awarded to a watercolor painting by Marge Burkholder, Plymouth, Ind.

People’s Choice, Youth Artist, was awarded to an acrylic painting by teen artist Laurabeth Landis, Kirklin, Ind.

First-place and People’s Choice winning artwork is now on display through September 30 in the Brown County Art Gallery in downtown Nashville.

Winners were chosen by a panel of three judges in six categories.  Adult artists were divided by media and children and teen artists were divided by age. 

This year’s event was cosponsored by the Friends of T.C. Steele.

T.C. Steele State Historic Site is located on Hwy 46 just west of Nashville in the heart of artistic Brown County. Part of the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites, the site is where nature's beauty meets the artist's canvas.
