INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 8, 2018) – Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA) has renewed its donation of the use of a Subaru Outback vehicle to the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites.

The donation allows museum staff to use the vehicle to visit the 11 historic sites in the museum system that are outside of Indianapolis. It also allows staff to visit schools statewide to increase the museum system’s community and educational reach.

The donation first came last year, following the Bicentennial Torch Relay where ten Subaru Outbacks passed through all 92 of the state’s counties, covering 3,200 miles over a five week period. One of those vehicles was donated to the museum in 2016, following the relay.

“Being a part of Indiana’s great automotive heritage, Subaru of Indiana Automotive is proud to support the Indiana State Museum,” said Tom Easterday, SIA’s Senior Executive Vice President.  “We hope this Subaru Outback, built here in Indiana, will help bring the fascinating history and culture of our state to as many Hoosiers as possible.”

Along with donation of the car, SIA is also a presenting sponsor of the museum’s Eco-Science Fair held each April.
