Homeschool Thursdays: Rocks and Minerals
Let your child explore and learn more about the world around them during this two-hour class that features different topics in science, art, history and culture. Adults join their learners for an interactive family experience.
Discover what makes a rock a rock and what makes a mineral a mineral, then learn about the differences between rocks and minerals! Use the Mohs Hardness Scale to determine a mineral’s name, then find out how Igneous, Metamorphic and Sedimentary rocks are formed.
Registration required three days prior to program date. Recommended for ages 6 – 13. No additional charge for adults attending Homeschool Thursdays. Tours of the House of the Singing Winds and Large Studio are available with purchase of regular site admission.
