Veterans and their families are invited to join the Indiana State Museum to honor Hoosier veterans who have selflessly served and continue to serve our country. You’ll learn about the state’s military history with a visit to our *Heroes from the Heartland display and see artifacts from our collection that share important stories. Meet with our curator of history to ask questions and explore hands-on activities and resources from community partners. You’ll also be able to leave notes of gratitude for veterans on a “talk-back” wall.
Be sure to stay for the Indianapolis Municipal Band Veteran’s Day Concert starting at 3 p.m.!
Do you know a Hoosier veteran you’d like to see honored in a future display? Please complete this form with the name and photo of a military service member to be added to our Heroes from the Heartland display in the future.
Active and veteran military get free admission and their immediate family members get a $2 discount on each admission pass. Free parking is available in the White River State Park garage on a first-come, first-served basis for veterans or active military with proof of ID.
*The Heroes from the Heartland display will be up from Nov. 1-8 and is located on level 1.
