Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a musical ode to the global cultural influences that shape our country’s identity at this solo performance by pianist Clare Longendyke.
Travel through a sweeping medley of songs created by American composers and inspired by a variety of artistic traditions from across the world, including south Asian musical themes, Diné landscapes and culture, Black American literature, Broadway showtunes, jazz and folk music.
Known for her artistic ferocity and imaginative programming, Longendyke is a nationally recognized classical concert artist. Influenced by everything from Chopin and Debussy to American folk music, Bob Dylan and The Beatles, she believes classical music should reflect the diversity of the people and cultures that shape it today.
