The intersection of history and science.

The natural beauty of Indiana can often go underappreciated, but it forms an important part of America’s landscape!

Join experienced naturalists for an all-day BioBlitz at Loblolly Marsh Nature Preserve in celebration of what makes our land unique. We’ll work together to identify as many species as we can over the course of just one day. Be amazed at the diversity of life to be found, from stunning fall blooms to migrating birds and monarch butterflies. Following in the footsteps of author and naturalist Gene Stratton-Porter, history and science will intersect as we learn about the important role community science can play in conservation efforts. Exact hike times tbd.

We will be collecting our observations using the iNaturalist app. Participants are encouraged to download the app before the event, if desired.
