Art of Pre-Columbian Mesoamerica

Homeschool Art Lab is an interactive program that explores stories, ideas and meaning throughout art history. Join us in the large studio for a discussion about art and apply some of these ideas and techniques during an art activity in the classroom.

You’ve heard of the Aztec and Maya civilizations of Mesoamerica, but have you heard of the Olmecs? This class will examine their colossal sculpture and detailed pottery motifs. Can you recreate their iconography using clay? Let’s give it a try!
