At the Corydon Capitol, you can discover the story of Indiana’s journey to statehood. Guided tours will take guests inside the State Capitol Building and Governor’s Mansion, where they have a rare opportunity to see the original 1816 Indiana Constitution that is temporarily on display for the 210th anniversary of the state’s first constitutional convention as well as America’s 250th birthday. Visitors can also see the Constitution Elm where lawmakers wrote the foundational document.
Tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Advanced registration is encouraged by calling 812.738.4890.
