At Vincennes State Historic Sites, visitors can learn more about Indiana’s time as a territory as they explore the state’s oldest town, which served as the territorial capital from 1800-13. Guided tours of the original Territory Capitol building as well as the Jefferson Academy, Elihu Stout print shop and Old French House will offer insights about what life was like for residents during the territorial period.

Building tours will take place on the hour from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Fort Knox II will also be open to self-guided tours for guests to learn more about the area’s importance as an early military outpost. Tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and advance registration is encouraged by calling us at 812.882.7422.
