A Celebration for the Entire Community!

Join us for the Polkas Norteñas Fest or Northern Polka Festival, a single-day dance, music and art festival celebrating polka culture and its influence on Mexican music genres of Corridos, Tejano, Norteño and Redova.

Dance troupes and musicians will come together to highlight the signature sounds, colorful costumes and artistic rhythms of polka culture and its influence on Mexican heritage. Enjoy performances throughout the day by Polka Bob, La Extravagancia Norteña, Indy Folklore Academy, Grupo Folklorico Macehuani, Indy Polkamotion and Ballet Folklorico Mosaicos.

You can also savor delicious Mexican street food favorites from the Garnacha Spot LLC. The festival will also feature around 30 booths showcasing local vendors and community organizations, offering you a chance to explore handmade items and connect with area businesses and resource providers.

Admission to the museum is free on this day and includes access to this event.

This event is presented by Ballet Folklorico Mosaicos and Arte Mexicano en Indiana in collaboration with the Indiana State Museum. Supporting sponsors include the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation, Glick Philanthropies, and the Herbert Simon Family Foundation.

A special thanks to community partners Athenaeum Foundation, Latinos Indy, Indiana Latino Expo, Consulado de México en Indianápolis, Indiana Latino Institute, and Indiana Latino Arts.
