On your mark, get set, roll! The Indiana State Museum and Scouting America, Crossroads of America Council, invite you to build and race Pinewood Derby® cars down the two-story, 125-foot track — the longest Pinewood Derby track in the state! For *11 days, alumni derby racers can brush the dust off their own Pinewood Derby cars and new racers can fine-tune their car creations or borrow one from the museum’s line-up.
With engaging activities happening daily throughout the museum, you can also try to build a car to withstand a collision, design your own race team flag and more. Plus, you can see a full-size cardboard replica of the 1911 Marmon Wasp, the car that won the first Indianapolis 500.
Feeling creative? Be a part of the best-in-show contest on race day with awards based on visual style and design.
Race Day and best-in-show contest: Sat., April 3, 2027
*Pinewood Derby is open March 24-April 4, 2027 (closed Easter, March 28)
