Step inside our newly transformed interpretive center to hear modern perspectives of Angel Mounds and the significance it still holds today directly from the descendants of this Mississippian community. Discover beautiful artworks created by the indigenous artists of today alongside the artifacts that inspired them. Outdoors you can walk among 1,000-year-old earthworks and discover one of the Midwest’s most important Native American archaeological sites. You will also discover the mounds’ cosmological connection and how they were created to align with certain celestial events, such as the summer and winter solstices.
