Whitewater Canal State Historic Site is open Wednesday through Sunday, and mill demonstrations take place at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Self-guided tours of the site grounds are available all day, and walk-up tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis and advance registration is encouraged by calling 765.647.6512.
Looking for spring break activities? Begin your trip by experiencing the Metamora Grist Mill. Discover the mill’s history and see for yourself how the mill grinds corn into flour, meal and grits – just as it has since the 1800s! You can also see the nation’s only known wooden aqueduct, originally constructed in 1843. Add some fun do your treks around the hiking trails by embarking on a scavenger hunt, available at the Grist Mill.
