Painting Selma’s Garden

En Plein Air Painting
10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Indiana’s top artists are gathering at T.C. Steele State Historic Site for the annual Painting Selma’s Garden, held in partnership with Indiana Heritage Arts and the Brown County Art Gallery, with support from the Brown County Community Foundation.

Come watch several painters in action as they work “en plein air” (outdoors) to create art inspired by the natural beauty of the site and, in particular, the formal gardens that were once nurtured by Selma Steele, T.C.’s second wife. The daytime event is included as part of the free admission offer for all Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites locations that day in recognition of Juneteenth.

Are you an artist interested in creating artworks during Painting Selma’s Garden? Contact Indiana Heritage Arts at 812-988-4609 for information on how to apply.
