View the groundbreaking documentary, Redeeming Uncle Tom: The Josiah Henson Story, which restores a hero of the abolitionist movement to his rightful place in history. Explore the incredible odds Henson overcame to escape slavery with his family and how his life inspired the character “Uncle Tom” in Harriet Beecher Stowe’s 1852 classic novel of the same name. Following the film narrated by actor Danny Glover, join in a community discussion about Josiah Henson’s life with Henson biographer Jared Brock. Registration required by 5 p.m. on Feb. 17.
