Bring Indiana history, art and science to life.

Our assembly shows are dynamic, interactive experiences designed to spark curiosity and ignite learning—whether at the Indiana State Museum or in your school’s own space. Perfect for all ages, these presentations combine storytelling, hands-on demonstrations and live performances.

IN-MUSEUM assembly SHOWS

Experience the excitement of a live show in our inspiring museum environment. Offered Wednesday–Friday, September through May. The museum is closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays (except certain holidays).

    $3/student (For groups of fewer than 30 students, a $90 fee applies)

  • Capacity
    30-240 students

OUTREACH assembly SHOWS

Bring the excitement of our assembly shows directly to your school or community. Offered year-round, Monday–Friday. A non-refundable booking deposit of $50 is required and will be applied toward the total fee.

    $250/program,
$150 for each additional show on the same day

Fred the Mastodon

  • PreK–Grade 2

Step back into the Ice Age and meet Fred—a young mastodon on a quest to find his herd. Using fossil casts and interactive puppetry, students explore animal adaptations and the prehistoric world.

Mind-Boggling Science Show

  • Grades K–5

Join our quest to solve a “big” problem with science! Through fun experiments using chemistry and trial and error, students work together to repair our favorite mastodon tooth.

Foley Sound: Be Part of the Show!

  • Grades 3–6

Discover the magic of sound effects and learn about the pioneering techniques of Foley. Students actively participate to create soundscapes that bring movies and radio to life.

The Liar’s Bench

  • Grades 4–12

What’s that object? Is it a cheese grater or a toaster? Students use deductive reasoning to uncover the true stories behind curious artifacts. Tailored content varies according to grade level.
