Easter fun for everyone at the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites

Hop on over to the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites to visit the Easter Bunny, search for hidden eggs and enjoy other Easter-themed activities in the weeks leading up to the holiday.

No matter where you are in Indiana, we have an Easter celebration in your area.

Central Indiana

Spend the day celebrating the Easter holiday during the Family Easter Celebration & Egg Hunt at the Indiana State Museum in downtown Indianapolis. The event will begin at 10 a.m. on April 20 and ends with an egg hunt at noon.

Visit and take pictures with the Easter Bunny, and make your own wildflower planter from newspaper to take home. Plus, decorate eggs and sing your heart out with karaoke.

Then, search for 2,000 eggs hidden throughout the Watanabe Gardens and along the museum’s Canal Terrace. Little ones ages 3 and younger can join in the fun with an egg hunt just for them, too.

In the week leading up to Easter, you can also try to find all 92 eggs the Easter Bunny hid throughout the museum, or create your very own and unique Easter basket in Cardboard Engineering. Both are included with purchase of general admission.

Admission to the Family Easter Celebration & Egg Hunt is $4/members or $5/non-members, and admission is free for children younger than age 3. Tickets may be purchased in advance here or at the door. General museum admission is not included.

Northern Indiana

Join in the Easter fun and activities at Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva, Indiana, during the Golden Easter Egg Hunt from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. on April 20.

Hunt for candy-filled eggs on the grounds of the Limberlost Cabin, but pay close attention – there’s six prized Golden Eggs waiting to be found too. The first of three egg hunts begins at 11 a.m., with hunts separated by age.

Learn a little about animals by visiting with bunnies and a baby goat, or check out the interactive Easter joke displays throughout the event. Plus, attend “Bunny Class” after the egg hunts, where you’ll learn all about rabbits – and graduate as official Limberlost “harebrains.”

Admission to the Golden Easter Egg Hunt is $2/member youth ages 12 and younger and $2.50/non-member youth ages 12 and younger. The event is free for participants ages 13+. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 260.368.7428 or at the door. Tickets do not include site admission.

Southern Indiana

Celebrate the Easter holiday during Eggstravaganza at the Lanier Mansion State Historic Site in Madison, Indiana, on April 13.

Join us for storytelling, make an Easter craft, get your face painted or explore Easter traditions from the 1800s. Plus, take a photo with the Easter Bunny when Eggstravaganza activities begin at noon. Then, get ready to search throughout the mansion lawn for hidden eggs filled with candy and prizes beginning at 1 p.m.

Admission to Eggstravaganza is $3 for youth ages 3-10, and adults are free with paid youth. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 812.265.3526 or at the door. Site admission is not included.
