‘A Dream of Beauty’ returns to Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site

ROME CITY, Ind. (Nov. 1, 2018) – A favorite Rome City tradition will take place once again this December at Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site during the annual “A Dream of Beauty” celebration.

During the event, attendees will enjoy live entertainment, holiday goodies like cookies and punch, special crafts and horse-drawn carriage rides around the property overlooking beautiful Sylvan Lake. Santa will also be in attendance, ready to greet families and hear children’s wish lists.

Along with enjoying the festivities, visitors can tour Gene’s home and see it decorated as she herself described it in 1917 – calling it “a dream of beauty.”

The event will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 2. The event is included with purchase of site admission, which is $8/adults, $7/seniors ages 60+, $5/youth ages 3-17, and free for children under 3 as well as Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites members.
