Delayed opening for canal boat at Whitewater Canal State Historic Site

METAMORA (May 23, 2018) – The opening of the Ben Franklin III Canal Boat has been delayed due to delays in dredging and repairing the canal. The Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites staff will get the boat up and running as soon as possible.

The Metamora Grist Mill remains open Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is free for the public to tour. Over Memorial Day weekend, 15-minute corn grinding demonstrations will be offered at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the mill.
