ROME CITY, Indiana (May 13, 2019) – On June 8, visitors are invited to enjoy an evening stroll through the gardens, along with music, food, wine tastings and more during “An Evening in Gene’s Gardens” at Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site.

This event provides a perfect summer’s night out. Locally-crafted beer and wine will be served, along with light hors d’oeuvres and hand-dipped, chocolate-covered strawberries. While enjoying live music by Mark Linehan, stroll through the gardens to see the recently-restored historic arbor with 100-year-old wisteria vines and flowers in full bloom. This year, the annuals are primarily white and light pastels – adding a “glow” to the gardens at night.

The event is for those ages 21+ and will take place from 8 to 10 p.m. on June 8. Tickets are $30/member of the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites, $35/non-member, with wine tasting and food included with ticket purchase. Reservations are required by June 5 by calling (260) 854-3790.
