Visiting the Indiana State Museum

Enjoy hands-on activities on all levels of the museum during this free day. Dunky the Dunkleosteus is ready to campaign again after being elected the Prehistoric President of the Indiana State Museum in 2023. Learn the joys of being a prehistoric president from Dunky and his cabinet members. Practice using your voice to enact change by voting on your favorite prehistoric animal and learn more about how to be your presidential best through an assortment of constitutional activities!

Visiting a state historic site*

From Greek Revival architecture on the banks of the Ohio River to the home of one of Indiana’s most beloved impressionist painters, the perfect day trip is just a hop, skip and jump away. Site access and tour space is limited. Please contact the site in advance of your visit to learn more and reserve your space.

Visit Levi and Catharine Coffin State Historic Site to Celebrate Presidents’ Day with Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States. Performances begin at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Learn more here.
