Indiana State Museum
Indianapolis City Nature Challenge
The Indiana State Museum is one of the many locations taking part in the 2023 City Nature Challenge! Attendees will be guided on a nature walk through the Watanabe Gardens and the Urban Wilderness Trail and museum staff will teach you about local flora that grows here. Report what you find on the iNaturalist website or app to help grow the database. The goal of these events is to develop a new baseline of a city’s biodiversity and to monitor how exactly change is accelerating.
Hikes begin at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. (weather depending)
This event is one of many happening around Indiana for the 2023 City Nature Challenge taking place April 28 to May 1 in over 300 cities across the world. Indianapolis and Fort Wayne are among those cities competing in this international event!
