Juneteenth Celebration: History, Health & the Arts (all ages)
Celebrate Juneteenth with free admission, special activities, vendors and performances across the museum!
Get up close to amazing artifacts and chat with our curators about exciting Indiana stories – like the story of famous cyclist Major Taylor! Explore the history of Juneteenth with live acts from community artists including musical, visual art and dance performances. You’ll also have opportunities to participate in meaningful conversations, support local businesses with our vendors, take a mindfulness break to refresh, or take your little ones to a story time. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. – Museum open/free admission
10:30-11 a.m. – Performance highlighting the activism of Frederick Douglass by the Asante Art Institute
11-11:30 a.m. – Conversations with Curator Kisha Tandy
11 a.m.-12 p.m. – 22Starving Artists drum circle performance
11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. – Early childhood story time
11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. – Yoga and mindfulness break
