Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites

Explore the digital exhibit, Legacy of Enslaved Mothers Project, during this virtual event featuring speakers from the Boone County Public Library of Kentucky. This exhibit takes a close look at the resiliency of enslaved women in Kentucky and highlights stories of those women including Margaret Garner, a freedom-seeker whose choices to keep her children out of slavery made national headlines.
